Pharrell Williams’ collaboration with Adidas started out with a series of Superstar sneakers. There was the Supershell collection, which saw each sneaker adorned with unique shell toe designs; and the Supercolor collection, which had 50 different single-hue colorways. Each one was aimed at empowering fans to express themselves through their footwear.
Since then, he has released many signature silhouettes – the Pharrell Williams 4D runner, Hu NMD, and Solar Hu, to name a few – each one successful in its own right. For the upcoming Adidas collab, he is going back to the sneaker that started it all – the Superstar, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
From the posts, the Pharrell x Adidas Superstar seems to be constructed from its signature white leather with interesting multi-colored panels layered on top. On the medial side of the sneaker, a mix of lime green, dark green and brown panels stretch from the ankle to the toe cap.
In another image, we can see the lateral side of the sneaker, which sports a yellow block.
We have never seen color blocking like this on the Superstar and honestly, we expect no less from the multi-hyphenated artist. Stay tuned for more updates on the Pharrell x Adidas Superstar.
