Red Bull Paper Wings 2015 National Finals Recap

If you missed out on the Red Bull Paper Wings 2015 National Finals, here’s what went down.

Paper airplane enthusiasts from all over Singapore gathered at the T-Junction of Singapore Management University last Friday, April 1st, for the Singapore National Finals of the Red Bull Paper Wings 2015. The top prize? A trip to Salzburg to compete at the Red Bull Paper Wings World Finals.

Every three years, Red Bull Paper Wings rallies paper airplane fans around the world to compete against each other in three exciting categories: Longest Airtime, Longest Distance and Aerobatics. Forget all you know about flying planes – forget cockpits, engines and turbulences. At the Red Bull Paper Wings, all you need is a sheet of paper, some creativity and a little knowledge on aeronautics.

Following an afternoon of intense folding, flinging and flying, victory went to three high flyers: Tok Sin Joo for Longest Airtime (4.4 secs), Ronnie Soh for Longest Distance (13.05 meters) and Sean Teo for Aerobatics. The three winners from Singapore will now battle it out with paper plane flying competitors from over 60 countries at the Red Bull Paper Wings World Finals to be held at Salzburg’s famous Hangar 7 from May 8th to 9th.
