Inspired by the great outdoors: Salehe Bembury’s next collaboration with New Balance has been revealed to be a rugged rendition of the 574 nicknamed “Yurt”.
The base silhouette is the New Balance 574, but with reinforced paneling around the forefoot and toe box and a chunkier, wider midsole. Most unmistakable is the addition of a protruding whistle on the heel.

These rugged 574s may be part of a wider outdoor/camping collection by New Balance and Salehe Bembury, judging from the Instagram post featuring actor and activist Jesse Williams who’s seen rocking a green hoodie.
Two colorways so far: The video featuring Williams shows us the sneaker in the iconic green/red/navy colorway, as seen on countless New Balance silhouettes. The second colorway is the classic New Balance grey, as seen in an earlier Instagram post.
