The ex-Versace designer finally takes on New Balance’s popular 99X sneakers. This week, Salehe Bembury is set to release a 990v2 called the “Sands Be the Time” – continuing his nature-inspired partnership with the Boston brand.
The Dusty Pink sneaker was first unveiled in leaks in mid-2022. The upper is constructed out of a mix of salmon-colored mesh contrasted by sand-colored, shaggy suede overlays. Purple hits appear on the suede ‘N’ logo, toebox panels and 990v2 branding on the tongue.
Since then, Salehe has unveiled a campaign to launch the sneaker. The shoot features bassist Thundercat sliding down sand dunes. Between funny quips and expressions, the musician showcases the new collab sneaker.
