This upcoming collection borrows three of Serrano’s most prominent works: Piss Christ, Madonna & Child II, and Blood and Semen II.
Raised as a staunch Roman Catholic, most of the artist’s works challenge religion by juxtaposing sacred imagery with human bodily fluids like blood, urine, semen and breast milk.
In fact, Serrano’s most controversial piece, Piss Christ, was supposedly created by submerging a photo of a crucified Jesus in a tank of the artist’s own urine.
Besides the aforementioned apparel, the collection also includes a series of Vans sneakers. They feature the Blood and Semen II print on the Sk8-Hi, Chukka and Old Skool silhouettes.
Those interested in copping this ‘vile’ collection can do so this Thursday, September 21. It rolls out in Japan on September 23.
