No prices have been released just yet. However, Weartesters state that the Vans x A Tribe Called Quest collection is priced between US$37 (approx. S$49) to US$85 (approx. S$112).
The Sk8-Hi silhouette features an outer constructed with a mixture of material, including suede. The words “Bonita Applebum”, found printed on the sneaker, pays homage to the band’s classic single of the same name, released in 1990.
The sneakers were first unveiled at Complex Con and on the group’s Instagram page (@atcq) on Monday, November 6. The accompanying caption reads, “We are pleased to present our ‘BONITA’ shoe which is the 1st from our upcoming collaboration with @vans coming Spring ‘18.”
This means the collaborative collection will kick off with the Sk8-Hi first, with more to come in the rest of 2018.
The collaboration with Vans is ATCQ’s first sneaker collab to hit retail stores. The group previously worked on unreleased collaborations with brands such as PUMA and FILA.
For now, details surrounding the collab are scarce. But keep an eye out on Straatosphere for more details closer to the release date.
