Thanks to a leak that went viral, the distributors for upcoming hit movie Suicide Squad had no choice but to upload the full trailer, giving us a glimpse at Jared Leto’s scary portrayal of The Joker.
The recently-concluded San Diego Comic-Con proved to be pretty exciting for pop culture fans, and while it’s usually the case that those in attendance get the first look at trailers, there has been an increasing number of leaks in recent times.
Just days ago, the teaser trailer for Warner Bros. Pictures’ upcoming blockbuster, Suicide Squad, was screened exclusively to the San Diego Comic-Con audience. But someone filmed it down and uploaded it onto the Internet. Needless to say, the leak went viral and people got to see Jared Leto’s portrayal of The Joker, which was probably meant to be kept under wraps for a while longer.
Efforts to take down the viral videos proved unsuccessful, leading the distributor to give in and release the full trailer ahead of its intended date, but not without an official statement to chide the perpetrators who illegally filmed the exclusive footage.
