ACW gives Converse silhouettes avant-garde upgrades

The A-Cold-Wall x Converse collection drops on September 17.

Converse

For his latest collaboration with Converse, Samuel Ross, founder of A-Cold-Wall, references his memories of Converse. His chosen silhouettes, the Chuck Taylor All Star Lugged and the ERX, have been given the ACW treatment, which includes functional upgrades and a revamped avant-garde design. Both sneakers are part of the A-Cold-Wall x Converse collaboration pack that drops on September 17.

The Chuck Taylor All-Star Lugged is inspired by his experience of wearing Chucks in the rough terrains of the Caribbean. His take on the Lugged sees an improvement on functionality with the addition of overlocking seam taping, a bootie construction, gusseted tongue and premium materials. Overall, the craftsmanship on the sneaker has also been upgraded to mirror that of the super-durable Chuck 70.

The ERX focuses on infusing avant-garde design sensibilities into an otherwise functional shoe. The entire upper is now constructed out of textured suede, with debossed design cues and patina. Each of the elements works to give the sneaker more character and an overall look that will fall in line with A-Cold-Wall’s collections.
