Aliwal Arts Night Crawl is back again, and like last year’s edition, it comes with an impressive lineup of activities for visitors of all ages.
Over at Aliwal Arts Centre, visitors can make their mark on the giant wau bulan (“moon kite”), a community artwork installation. A host of performances and workshops are slated to be held at the Centre as well.
The Local People Art Market will be at the nearby Aliwal Street carpark, with a curation of booths run by local craft-makers and artisans.
Don’t miss other exciting happenings around Kampong Gelam such as the Batik Trail that traces the history and heritage of the printed fabric, a percussion showcase by Nadi Singapura and even a Chinese Opera show.
In the spirit of Hari Raya Puasa, the Malay Heritage Centre will also host its annual open house. Traditional songs, dances, and a Raya flea market will add to the night’s pomp and pageantry.
Visitors are encouraged to come in their best sarongs to fully immerse themselves in Singapore’s cultural heritage. Can’t find one? Just come dressed comfortably!
