Up to 15 characters including Admiral Ackbar will be available

Find the Force app is an augmented reality game for Star Wars fans. Using the “Find the Force” app and augmented reality, users must scan cardboard standees available at various stores to “keep” characters in their smartphones.

Engadget reports that up to 15 characters will be available in the augmented reality game. They include new characters like Rey and iconic Star Wars characters such as Chewbacca and Admiral Ackbar, to name a few.

The goal of the game is to gather as much data chips as possible. Gathering enough data chips gives users access to digital collectibles including video clips and character emoji.

Up t0 20 thousand stores will be participating in the activity, with the bulk of the stores located in the United States. A number of standees will be located in select Toys ‘R Us stores in Singapore. For a full list of participating retail stores, click here.

The app will be available on both the Apple and Android store from Friday, September 1 a.k.a. Force Friday.
