After taking on Nike’s iconic sneakers for the wildly successful “The Ten” collection, Virgil Abloh almost immediately moved on to his next project, this time tapping on the sportswear giants’ history in track and field. The collection’s debut featured the Zoom Terra Kiger 5 silhouette, but for his next drop, the designer enlists Nike’s classic Waffle Racer instead. First previewed in Off-White’s Paris Fashion Week SS19 show, you can expect the Nike x Off-White Waffle Racer to launch in three colorways – fuschia, vivid sky, and white.
Besides the spiked, track and field outsole, other key features include the deconstructed style and signature Off-White details seen in past collaborations, from the orange tab on the swoosh, the zip-tie tag on the laces, to the secondary lacing system also spotted on the unreleased Off-White x Futura x Nike SB Dunk Low. Judging from the debut track and field collection, the upcoming Nike x Off-White Waffle Racer pack will likely be highly anticipated as well, solidifying the multi-talented designer’s golden touch with collaborations.
Keep a lookout for the next Nike x Off-White sneaker collection on Nike.com with a release scheduled for September 5.
