Continuing Virgil Abloh’s legacy, Nike is set to drop the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid in a new Pine Green colorway. The leather-clad sneaker is a nod to the I-95 highway on the American East Coast and the people who contributed to the success of the sneakers and the communities that elevated them to their current iconic status
This fresh take features a full leather construction, replacing the previous knit upper, and is designed in a sleek pine green colorway. The sneaker is accentuated with signature Off-White design cues such as the Helvetica text on the medial side of the shoe and the iconic zip tie, along with a stitched-on Nike Swoosh.
The big question: Can Virgil revive the Air Force 1 Mid?
Notable details include the addition of two sets of laces that come in the box, the controversial spikes at the forefoot and a special wavy midsole design with a cut-out that showcases the Air Bubble. An embroidered candle appears on the heel of the sneaker which is an ode to the legendary streetwear designer’s artistic flair.
To mark the 40th anniversary of the Air Force 1, the late Virgil Abloh was tasked to transform the iconic silhouette with a futuristic approach and incorporated a color scheme that pays homage to the sneaker’s roots. His latest Air Force 1 Mid is set to drop in Singapore on April 28 on Nike SNKRS.
