The victim of the sneaker crime was robbed by two men after advertising the Adidas N.E.R.D Hu NMD sneakers on Craigslist.

According to ABC Action News, the thieves posed as potential buyers and met the suspect around the Irvine Market area. The victim then followed the suspects into the car to complete the payment when a second suspect produced a handgun and pointed it at him.

The thieves had allegedly lured the victim in after agreeing to pay US$6,000 (approx. S$8,131). The shoes are currently valued at US$4,499 (approx. S$6,070) on StockX.

The stolen shoes feature a black colorway along with the words “YOU” and “NERD” emblazoned in reflective silver. To add to its rarity, the sneakers were available for purchase only from ComplexCon.

This is the second crime-related incident to happen to a pair of Adidas Pharrell Hu sneakers. Earlier on November 14, a fight broke out in KLCC, Malaysia during the launch of the Adidas Pharrell Hu Training Gear, and someone was left with a broken nose.
