The Design

Th EVANGELION x G-SHOCK GA-110EVA30-7A builds on the GA-110 blueprint from their maiden effort in 2010, transforming every surface into a tribute to the Evangelion Unit-01: the familiar purple-and-green mecha and the franchise’s very quintessence.

The short band features the horn of the Unit-01’s head, while the bezel captures the fierce face of the Evangelion itself. Most dramatically, as if holding the watch’s main body, the lower bezel and long band depict its left arm gripping the red Spear of Longinus.

The visual storytelling continues onto the EVANGELION watch face. Sachiel, the Third Angel and the show’s first and arguably most familiar antagonist, claims the real estate at 9 o’clock on the inset dial. The adjacent Y-shaped divider incorporates the “CAUTION” pattern seen throughout the anime.

Subtle references permeate every element of the design such as the  ‘NEON GENESIS’ on the band loop, the NERV logo on the band tip, and the custom 30th anniversary logo engraved on the case back – commemorating the three decades since the series revolutionised anime storytelling.
