If you missed the drop at Stussy.com, Nike is giving you another chance! The Nike x Stussy apparel, Nike x Stussy Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 “Fossil” and “Pure Platinum” will be dropping on Nike SNKRS on April 3 at 10 am (Singapore time).
Stussy is taking it way back for their latest collaboration with Nike. The brand has dug deep through Nike’s archive and pulled out the Nike Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 for the collection. Originally released in 2003, the sneaker was designed by Steven Smith (whom we interviewed at Culture Cartel 2019) and inspired by the 1978 Porsche 928.
Stussy takes the Nike Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 and puts a 2020 spin on the sneaker in two colorways – silver and black. The sneaker will retain its full breathable mesh upper under a cage. Each colorway is vastly different from the other. The black colorway will feature black and white mesh with a patent silver cage. The white colorway will come in a full white mesh with a cream suede cage. Both sneakers will come with white midsoles and black Air Zoom cages at the heel.
Aside from the sneakers, the collection will also include apparel and accessories, according to images by @hypeneverdies. In the images posted on Instagram, we see the embroidered Stussy x Nike logo on brown fabric – probably the emblem for the upcoming collection. We also get to see the two Nike Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 colorways and a sample Stussy-branded Nike shoulder bag.
Looking at the leaks, we can probably expect a massive drop for the Stussy x Nike collab. Stay tuned for updates!
