5 Tracks for This Week’s Grind: The ATTAGIRL! Edit

With the hyped up ATTAGIRL! 3rd Anniversary Party just a couple of days away, we’ve compiled a mix featuring the ladies of ATTAGIRL! to get you in the mood.

1) Sofklo, “Sippy Cup”

Part of the HYBRDTHRY fam, Sofklo has been putting in mad work musically. Her original tracks never stray away from her trademark light, airy and slightly anime-sounding style that’s perfect for the summer. Just listen to her take on Melanie Martinez’s “Sippy Cup” for instance. The original track was as dark as it gets, and Sofklo managed to transform it into a cheery little tune that we find ourselves bopping to. Check out her interview with Straatosphere here.

2. Jaydah, “Into The Blue Guest Mix”

While Jaydah’s known for her harder, grittier sounds, she remains faithful to her deeper bass roots; opting for low end frequencies and vibrations to get us going. Her guest mix for BFM 89.9 features a multitude of tracks from Phyla Digital, all weaved in with her signature inimitable sound.

3. KRSTN, “ATTAGIRL! 3rd Anniversary Mix”

Although she’s only been at the decks for two years, KRSTN boasts a sound like no other. She describes her style as hard-hitting bass that’s whimsically melodious; drawing from the likes of Troyboi, Porter Robinson and GANZ. This mix has been climbing up the ranks to our favorites, with dance-able drops and smooth, smooth transitions. Read more about how she came into prominence here.

4. RAH, “Strain Santai #2”

A prominent member of Singapore’s independent music label Darker Than Wax, she often plays her hand at Drum & Bass as well as black music. Her mix above is based on her Europe summer trip, with a slew of tracks from Golden Rules, Kerem Akdag, FZPZ, and it ends off with Joubert Singer.

5. KINNIE, “KINNIMIX”

Formerly based in London, DJ Kinnie will be making the rounds in Singapore this weekend with her bass-laden, sharp grime and dubstep infused sound that’s bound to be lit. Even though she’s new to the scene, having debuted in 2015, she’s already got international shows under her name, in both London and Tokyo.
