Nike’s collaborative streak continues and this time ACRONYM takes over the Nike Lunar Force 1 silhouette.
We’ve seen numerous successful collaborations between Nike and labels and designers of all echelons of the fashion world from Riccardo Tisci to fragment design; Supreme to Patta. It’s no surprise then that Nike will continue to dish out products that are the result of joint efforts. This time round, German outerwear brand ACRONYM gets in the car with Nike to revamp the Nike Lunar Force 1.
This collaborative piece features a functional zipper that runs across the lateral of the shoe dividing the upper’s black suede. ACRONYM branding is subtly placed on the leather tongue while a patent leather heel brings out contrast to this monochromatic silhouette, all of which is housed on a white midsole.
Since ACRONYM started in 1994, the brand’s focus has been on designing stylish and functional apparel. Joint efforts with companies including KHS Tactical Equipment Germany (equipment manufacturers for the German Special Forces), and W.L. Gore and Associates (the inventors of Gore-Tex) re-emphasizes ACRONYM’s prowess in the field of functional wear.
The ACRONYM x Nike Lunar Force 1 SP drops tomorrow, April 9th, at NikeLab locations worldwide and Nike Tier Zero accounts including END. and Hanon, for US$225. Those residing in Singapore, it might be worth keeping your eye on @surrenderstore on Instagram for they may be carrying the shoe too.
