Tokyo-based product designer Shigeki Fujishiro, who has recently completed work on the adidas Prez for the brand’s new 84-Lab collection, is the man behind the penultimate collaborative pair between the adidas Consortium Stan Smith and various Asian designers.
Fujishiro’s take on the classic sneaker is an expression of his fascination with spatial relationships. While the leather upper remains a minimalist white, Fujishiro has weaved colored string through the 3-Stripe perforations on the sides of the shoe, creating unique graphic shapes that’s sure to turn heads. The tongue has an “Endorsed by Stan Smith” image printed in a tonal grey glossy stamp, while simple and subtle “STAN SMITH PLAY” wordings sit along the side panel.
The adidas Consortium Stan Smith x PLAY will be available from March 8th at Limited Edt Vault, 313@Somerset, and Limited Edt Chamber, Marina Bay Sands, as well as at No.6 London, No.42 Paris, No.74 Berlin and selected Consortium boutique retailers worldwide.
