Jordan Brand is set to release the Air Jordan 1 Low OG ‘Howard University’ PE during the upcoming Holiday season of 2024. The Air Jordan 1 Low was initially only given to Howard Bison’s basketball team in 2023, but having a public release makes it a significant departure from Jordan Brand. Similar to the other university-exclusive sneakers such as the Oregon Ducks PE, one can expect these to have greater demand compared to the usual colorways of the AJ1 Low OG.
The AJ1 Low OG ‘Howard University’ PE features a white leather base upper, red cracked overlay, and navy safari textured Swooshes. A mini Swoosh can also be found on the lateral toe. Quilted linings made out of silk are used, with Nike Air branding stamped on the left insole and while Howard Bison logo on the right. The shoes are completed with a sail rubber midsole and a light gum rubber outsole.
Jordan Brand first confirmed its partnership with Howard University back in 2022, as it pays homage to one of the US’ most revered Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) – An establishment with a storied history deeply rooted in the relentless pursuit of outstanding achievement. Jordan Brand also unveiled a series of school-themed Air Jordan Player Exclusives, ranging from Air Jordan 1 through 38. It dons the school’s signature hues of white, navy blue, and varsity red.
Expect the release of the AJ1 Low OG ‘Howard University’ PE towards the end of the year and will likely be released on Nike SNKRS and select retailers. Stay tuned for updates.
