Dubai-based streetwear label, Amongst Few, has extended its presence to include a physical shop in the city. Here’s a look at what’s in store. 

Situated at the edge of the city center, Amongst Few‘s first-ever brick and mortar store may be partially hidden away from neighboring mega malls, but it stands out as a second home for consumers of street culture.

Bridging the gap between retail, art, music and lifestyle, the store carries a wide range of sneakers, apparel, magazines, records and original art pieces. Retail is not the only element at work here, as there are plans to open up the floor to Dubai’s community in support of its arts programmes, through screenings, exhibitions or workshops.

Co-founders Florian Moser and Michael Taylor derived the store concept from their British, Jamaican, Austrian and Australian roots, while staying true to fellow co-founder Khalid Bin Hadher’s Emirati heritage and the brand’s birthplace in Dubai.

The result is a shop space incorporating clean lines and sweeping angles, using raw materials such as cement, steel and concrete that are offset by hints of natural ash wood and even a weeping fig tree. The overall aesthetics strike a fine balance between simplicity and detail, mirroring Amongst Few’s philosophy of suspending itself from the predicaments of the masses and devoting itself fully to the highest level of quality.

“By providing the region with a means to connect and purchase street culture products in an authentic setting, we aim to provide positive growth for the local culture, while helping independent brands like ourselves nurture the next in line. We want to provide a creative platform for the region to help slash the Dubai stigma and display the city for what it really is, a melting pot of multi-national ingenuity,” said Taylor.

Amongst Few’s flagship store is located at Palm Strip, Jumeirah Beach Road, Jumeirah 1, Dubai. Open daily from 10am – 10pm.
