Marni Makes a Difference With Its “Animal House” Exhibition

Here in Singapore for a limited time, the “Animal House” exhibition by Marni showcases the handiwork of independent Columbian women, with a portion of sales proceeds going to a local women’s shelter.

From now till March 29th, Italian fashion house Marni is showcasing a range of limited edition furniture and animal-inspired art pieces at Paragon (Atrium Two). Collectively known as “Animal House”, this is the first time the display is shown in Asia following its unveiling at Salone del Mobile 2014.

An array of animal shapes, including giraffes, ducks, donkeys and flamingos, are crafted using metal and bright colored PVC. There are also traditional chairs, small benches, chaise lounges and rocking chairs that have all been created in a myriad of tones. Each piece is unique and handmade by Columbian women who are part of a sustainable work initiative.

The collaboration reaffirms Marni’s commitment to charity initiatives: Part of the revenue from the sale of “Animal House” pieces will go towards Casa Raudha, a local shelter for women. The contributions will help vulnerable women and their children build better lives together through education. Interested parties can find out more at the Marni boutique (#01-06, Paragon).
