Adele’s “Hello” music video garnered 100 million views in just five days, making it the fastest video to reach the number in 2015, according to Google.
Adele’s brand new track “Hello” has been making airwaves since it was first released. In less than a week, the track’s accompanying music video has crossed 100 million views, making it the fastest video to reach the 100-milion view mark in 2015.
“Hello” is only the second-fastest video ever to hit that mark, trailing PSY’s 2013 song “Gentleman”, which reached the 100 million-view mark in four days.
Adele’s earlier smash hits “Rolling in the Deep” and “Someone Like You” took longer to hit the 100 million mark.
So much has been said about “Hello”, which has been three years in the making. While some call it the songbird’s “if it ain’t broken” ballad – a metaphor for Adele’s winning, if not formulaic work, fans obviously love it. Even veteran entertainer, Lionel Richie, chipped in to the music industry’s hot topic by posting a “Hello” meme that pays tribute to Adele’s song and his own hit of the same title released in 1984:
“Hello” is taken off Adele’s upcoming album 25, which will be released on 20 November.
