New images showcase a black variant of the Adidas x Pharrell Superstar.
Update: June 29, 10:30 am (Singapore time)
We have a release date for the Adidas x Pharrell Superstar! The knitted Superstars will drop in Singapore on July 3. Head over to Adidas.com to cop your pair.
Both colorways of the Adidas x Pharrell Superstar have uppers constructed out of Primeknit with sown on fabric patches.
With the Superstar celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, Adidas is commemorating the iconic silhouette in the best way possible – exciting collaborations. In the first half of this year alone, we’ve seen special edition Superstars released in collaboration with Blondey and Prada. Subsequently, leaks began to surface of Jonah Hill’s rendition of the sneaker and it was only a matter of time before an Adidas x Pharrell Superstar would pop up.
For a while now, the multi-hyphenate has been teasing an unreleased patchwork Superstar on Instagram. New images have since surfaced, giving us a closer look at the sneakers and even a second colorway.
The Adidas x Pharrell Superstar will be coming in a black and white colorway with both versions featuring full Primeknit uppers. This includes the shell toe, which seems to sport a stiffer variant of Primeknit that retains its signature wavy texture.
The most striking element on the sneaker is the large, single tone fabric patch attached to the lateral side of the sneaker. On the medial side, three multicolored patches have been added around the midfoot area. It’s on these patches that we see the only visible Adidas branding, which comes in the form of a small tab.
Pharrell’s “Human Race” slogan appears embroidered on the heel emblazoned in gold stitching. To top it all off, the sneaker comes with a thin Primeknit tongue and Pharrell’s signature reflexology chart insole.
At the moment, Adidas has yet to announce a drop date for the Adidas x Pharrell Superstar. Stay tuned for more updates on its release.
