Nike commemorates Air Max Day with a limited edition release of the legendary Air Max 1, forefather to every other Air Max available today.
On March 26, 1987, Nike released the Air Max 1 and revolutionized its sneaker lineup. The Air Max technology marked the first time air cushioning in a shoe was made visible, and its widespread popularity led to a whole family of releases such as the Air Max 90, Air Max 360 and the recent Air Max Lunar90.
In celebration of Air Max Day 2014, Nike has released the aptly named Air Max 1 “Air Max Day”. Featuring the original white/red upper seen on the original release, this anniversary sneaker also sees a volt midsole that accentuates the visible Nike Air and brings out the shoe’s legendary status and innovation. The tongue tab is emblazoned with the 3.26 numbering, a tribute to the date that started it all.
The Nike Air Max 1 “Air Max Day” retails for S$179 and is available at Limited Edt Queensway and LE Vault. Limited pairs available.
