Asics is big on heritage, with decades worth of innovation and a vault full of past sneaker designs under its belt. The brand consistently strikes a balance between developing modern technology while staying true to its roots. So it comes as no surprise that the Japanese sportswear brand has chosen to dig into the archives for its latest sneaker – the Asics GEL-BND. The shoes will launch exclusively on asics.com in four colorways from April 30, retailing at S$109.
The all-new design serves as an evolution of the Asics GEL-BONDI, a triathlon runner released in Australia back in 1998. While the upcoming model comes with a street-ready chunky upgrade, it still retains the signature bold colors that made the GEL-BONDI stand out from other runners. The modern Asics GEL-BND also features a breathable open mesh upper and premium black detailing on the heel, similar to the original.
