Paris-based Paperboy and Japanese retailer, Beams drop two well-executed New Balance sneakers – 1500 and 920. Titled “Ice Boy”, the cross-continental collab drops on August 5 in Singapore.
The sneakers are a tribute to the famed New Balance Flimby factory. The collab marks the factory’s 40th anniversary, informing the selection of the 1500 and 920. The 1500 has been a staple in NB’s lineup since 1989 while the 920 is a recent introduction – representing the brand’s releases through the decades.
Paperboy and Beams constructed the sneaker’s uppers out of suede material and mesh. In terms of color palette, they opted for the classic-yet-underrated combination of grey and blue. However, they applied a subtle asymmetrical color blocking that is sleek and easily goes unnoticed at first glance.
The duo completes the collaboration with branded embroideries on the tongue and insole. “Paperboy” appears on the right tongue and “Beams” on the left while the insole bears both brand logos.
Beams x Paperboy x New Balance “Ice Boy” pack drops in Singapore on August 5. You can join the raffles on End Launches for both the 1500 and 920.
