Jordan Brand is on a serious roll. It has just unveiled a collaboration with Dior, and now Hiroshi Fujiwara – a familiar partner of the American brand – has just revealed a hint of an exciting 2020 drop.
In an Instagram post, Hiroshi showed off a retro-inspired box that harks back to the beginning of Jordan’s career on the courts. The box is split down the middle – the blue side is labelled “1984 Air Ship PE”, while the more familiar black side is labelled “1985 Air Jordan 1”.
Both sneakers come in a red and white colorway – a reference to the basketball star’s career-defining years with the Chicago Bulls. The Air Jordan 1s are familiar, but the Air Ship PE is a relatively unknown OG sneaker. Like the AJ1, the sneaker was originally banned by the NBA for its color – not its design or technology. With the two sneakers side by side, it’s clear to see that the Air Ship PE had a big influence on the legendary AJ1.
The Air Jordan 1 in the Jordan Two-Pair Pack will come with the OG-style hang tags – a feature that differentiated the original batch of Jordans from its modern iterations.
No release date has been announced for the Jordan Two-Pair Pack. Follow Hiroshi Fujiwara on Instagram, @fujiwarahiroshi, for more updates.
