Dickies gets bought over for US$820 million by VF Corp that also owns Vans and Timberland.

The move will increase the company’s 2017 sales revenue to US$11.85 million. In the long run, VF Corp is expected to earn an additional revenue totaling more than US$1 billion by 2021, reports Business Insider.

According to Fortune, VF has taken the leap to keep its portfolio updated in an attempt to keep its investors interested. The company is recognized for its ability to turn underperforming brands around by paying attention to areas such as apparel tech and management.

Known for its workwear styled apparel, Dickies, a.k.a. Williamson-Dickie Manufacturing, has, in the past, collaborated with notable streetwear and sneaker labels such as Stussy and Converse.

The handover will happen towards the end of 2017. Looks like we can expect to hear more from Dickies in 2018.
