Slip-on shoes have been one of her favorites. We always ensure that the shoes are comfortable because they are important for her developing feet and pretty much go anywhere.

If you’re spending a day out together, how do you decide which shoes you’re both going to wear?
My daughter has started having an opinion and a very unique fashion sense. She herself will pick up the shoes that she’s going to rock and then we both decide which outfit to match the shoes with.

Which is Gabriel’s favorite pair and why?
He used to love his Jordan 3 “Fire Red” before he outgrew them because it’s that one pair where our whole family has the same model and colorway. Now he’s more into lifestyle sneakers like Roshes, slip-ons and the like because they are lighter compared to Jordans.

If you’re spending a day out together, how do you decide which shoes you’re both going to wear?
I normally let him choose what pair he wants, unless it’s totally off with his outfit. It also depends on the weather, because we try to avoid wearing pairs with suede on rainy days.

We try to rock the same pair, if not I’ll just let Aniq choose what he wants to wear. My daughter hasn’t understood the sneaker game yet but I try to match hers with whatever we’re wearing.

I let him choose his own kicks. Nobody can tell him what to wear…these 4-year-olds are very opinionated.

Who got into sneakers first?
I did. My dad started buying sneakers after I started working at Warped. He used to come by along with my mom and brother and check out shoes. Soon he got drawn into the shoe game.

How many pairs of sneakers does he have?
He has about 30 pairs.

Do you guys make it a point to wear the same sneakers out together?
We don’t usually coordinate. My dad wears whatever he feels like wearing, but I tend to not wear the same pair as him. We have seven similar pairs, and he has stuff that I want.

His favorite pair is the adidas Yeezy Boost 350 “Pirate Black”. He managed to win it during Limited Edt’s raffle. It was his first time taking part in a raffle and he was really excited to have won it. Beginner’s luck plays a part.

If you’re spending a day out together, how do you decide which shoes you’re both going to wear?
If we’re going out for the whole day and if it involves a lot of walking, we would go for runners such as the Nike Sock Dart or ASICS Tiger GEL-LYTE III because of the comfort. If it’s a rainy day, we would go for more of a leather upper, like Air Jordans or Air Force 1.
