Fenty x Puma Avanti 

The Fenty x Puma Avanti reimagines the blokecore fashion trend, featuring luxuriously supple vintage leather,  a folded-over tongue adorned with a debossed and gold-foil printed Fenty and Puma Cat logo. The sneaker’s gum outsole and leather footbed are nods to classic Puma football boots worn by legends like Eusebio, Pelé and Maradona. Fans of Riri can choose between a black-and-white version or a chrome edition that boasts laser-etched logos and chrome-accented leather details.

History of the Puma Avanti

Starting off in 1968, the iconic Puma King football boot was invented. Football legends of the time skillfully graced the football pitches around the world in the world in the iconic boot. Alongside the football craze, in 1978, Puma the jogging focused Miele which would evolve into the Puma Easy Rider.

However, everything changed when Puma had a historic fashion collaboration in 1998 with Jil Sander. Blending the two sneakers, they created the pioneering Jil Sander King shoe. This innovative design would go on to inspire the creation of the Avanti.

Fenty’s entrance to Puma 

The Fenty x Puma partnership started in 2015. The label introduced its signature Creepers style and went on to debut other sneakers such as its Bowed Shoes and Faux-Fur Slides. Leveraging the attention of the Creeper, Rihanna presented her inaugural Fenty Puma clothing collection in February 2016 at New York Fashion Week.

This striking assortment of attire drew inspiration from goth aesthetics and included off-the-shoulder dresses reminiscent of bomber jackets, corsets, leather chokers adorned with crosses, black dresses featuring asymmetrical lacing, sheer tops, and oversized faux fur hoodies.
