The 25th anniversary celebrations of the GEL-LYTE III may be drawing to a close soon, but it isn’t time for a curtain call just yet.
This month’s collaboration is with Australian sneaker store Highs and Lows (HAL), and pays tribute to the Astor Theatre, an iconic cinema house in Perth.
The Astor Theatre first opened its doors in 1919, and has remained an architectural feat since. It symbolizes the artistic and cultural heart of Perth and is also visible from HAL’s first store in Mount Lawley.
Mirroring the actual Astor Theatre building, the Highs and Lows x ASICS Tiger GEL-LYTE III “Silver Screen” incorporates soft mint pastel leather for the upper, with contrasting red ASICS form-stripes on the medial side of the shoe. An icy outsole reveals a marble print that’s similar to the flooring of the Astor Theatre’s lobby.
Other details include an embossed HAL logo on the split tongue, “silent film countdown” print on the insole, “cracked paint” leather effect near the form-stripes, various 3M accents and lace locks.
The Highs and Lows x ASICS Tiger GEL-LYTE III “Silver Screen” retails for S$269 and will be available on October 31st at Limited Edt Vault.
