Before J Balvin lit up the stage at one of the biggest sporting and television events in the world, he took to social media to show off the collaboration sneakers. A flurry of posts from friends and family who received an early pair were reposted on his Instagram account. The star himself posted a teaser image of the rainbow sneakers, which are a vivid representation of his vibrant persona. It’s a fitting follow up to his recent colorful clothing collaborations with Guess and Bape, and cover artwork with Takashi Murakami.

The J Balvin x Air Jordan 1 features all-over rainbow uppers coupled with details that won’t look out of place in an arts and craft experiment. The playful approach sees the sneaker lined in canvas, with raw jagged and rounded edges appearing on the toe guards, heels and side panels, as well as the ankle overlays. Further details include exposed tongues and co-branding on the tongue tabs featuring J Balvin’s smiley logo, which is also etched on the sneaker’s heel panel.

Expect more information about the J Balvin x Air Jordan 1 collaboration release dates soon. For now, check out the sneaker’s appearance at the Superbowl halftime show from the video embedded above.
