You’ve heard of the Merlion, but have you heard of the ‘Merbbit’? Well, as part of Singapore’s 54^th birthday, Japanese streetwear label Fxxking Rabbits has teamed up with Singapore’s very own Surrender for a commemorative t-shirt featuring the ‘Merbbit’ – a half Merlion-half rabbit hybrid. The t-shirt pays homage to Singapore by outfitting the ‘Merbbit’ logo in the national colors of red and white, and topping it off with an all-over star print.

Available in black and red colorways, the t-shirts will be priced at S$150 and launched at Surrender’s Orchard store on August 9, 11 am.

2. Under Armour HOVR Infinite Singapore Shoe

Thanks to Under Armour, we can now proudly say that Singapore has its very own shoe. The HOVR Infinite Singapore Shoes is as Singaporean, as it gets with its red and white colorway and Merlion-inspired scale pattern on the uppers. These shoes, like other shoes in this series, come fitted with Under Armour’s HOVR cushion midsole to provide maximum comfort for your runs. As a nod to Singapore, the shoes are topped off with “SG” on the tongue and lace tips.

The Under Armour HOVR Infinite Singapore shoe is priced at S$229 and is available at Under Armour’s Funan, Orchard Central, Paragon and Changi Airport stores.

3. Uniqlo #UTWearYourSingapore T-Shirts

Uniqlo celebrates Singapore’s 54^th birthday by involving local artists for their latest collection. The #UTWearYourSingapore t-shirts showcase designs by local typography artist Ewejin Tee. The ten t-shirts in the collection each feature cheerful and playful designs of different neighborhoods in our country. As a nod to each of these neighborhoods, Ewejin highlights things unique to them in each of his designs. For instance, a plate of nasi lemak is included in the ‘Punggol’ t-shirt in reference to the famous Punggol Nasi Lemak. Check out the ten different designs and rep’ your ‘hood this National Day.

The t-shirts range from S$24.90 for children sizes to S$29.90 for adult sizes. These can be purchased at Uniqlo’s flagship store in Orchard Central.

4. G-Shock x Jahan Loh DW-5600

This is technically not a National day collaboration but it’s perfectly fitting. What better way to commemorate the nation’s birthday than to embrace local artists and one of our key landmarks ION Orchard? Feted Singaporean artist Jahan returns to the spotlight once again with a special G-Shock collaboration for ION Orchard’s 10^th anniversary. The collaborative DW-5600 timepiece comes fitted with space grey tropical patterns amidst an all-white background. The phrase “I Have Seen The Future” is written on the watch band to complete its futuristic aesthetics. What’s more, the timepiece will be complemented with a special ‘RIZE the Spaceman’ figurine.

The collection is limited to only 50 pieces and retails at S$399. Cop it exclusively at ION Orchard’s G-Shock Boutique from August 17 onwards.
