The utilitarian approach to the collection means each piece comes with plenty of compartments to store valuables. But, style was also a key consideration in the creation of the Nike AAE 1.0, hence compartments are tucked away neatly behind zips or folds. The nifty double zips that feature across a few of the pieces are great additions that give the wearer yet more space.
In addition to generous compartment spaces, the Nike AAE 1.0 features lightweight fabrics and body-mapped seams.
The 1/2 Zip Hoodie is a standout piece that truly speaks of the consideration of form and function. It comes elongated at the back for much needed extra coverage during forward bends, for instance. The hood fits the head snugly and the asymmetrical half-zip closure goes all the way up to meet the end of the hood so it zips up like a mask – perfect for the cold or to cope with hazy seasons.
The Nike AAE 1.0, reminiscent of Nike’s Gyakusou line (now released only once a year instead of twice annually), retails at a similar price range: between S$100 and S$350.
The collection is now available on Nike.com and Dover Street Market.
