Fans of the NBA icon can look forward to another major drop just in time for the holiday season. Rumors of two Nike Kobe 4 Protro have been making rounds for the last couple of months. In the last few weeks, early images of the Nike Kobe 4 Protro “Black Mamba” and the The Nike Kobe 4 Protro “Bicoastal” have finally surfaced.

The Nike Kobe 4 Protro “Black Mamba” arrives in a stealthy all-black color scheme that plays with textures and materials to deliver a layered and detailed look. Snakeskin embroideries in the forefoot, ankle collar and Swoosh are paired with a metallic heel cap and smooth, matte grey leather panels. A similar design approach can be seen on the “Bicoastal” colorway but this time in hues of grey. Based on the side profile of the “Bicoastal” Kobe 4, we can expect both sneakers to come with Kobe’s signature on the heel.

The Nike Zoom Kobe 4 is one of the most popular silhouettes that came to fruition from the Nike and Kobe partnership. When Kobe met designer Eric Avar, he had only one specific request – make the Nike Zoom Kobe 4 the lightest and lowest basketball shoe in the market. To make this possible Eric looked at football boots for inspiration. Footballers have generally worn low footwear and never had issues with them and this intrigued Kobe.

Kobe debuted the shoes at the Madison Square Garden when the Lakers took on the Knicks. This debut was no ordinary one. Kobe took over that game with a whopping 61 points to his name. The Kobe 4 Protros relaunch is a much-needed throwback for fans of the basketball legend and the perfect pick up to cap off the holiday season.
