The sneaker first popped up on-feet at the Off-White runway back at Paris Fashion Week.
The good news? The Off-White x Nike Air Jordan 4 “Sail” will likely be popping up in stores soon on July 25.
The Off-White x Nike Air Jordan 4 “Sail” was first seen at his MCA Chicago Exhibition and made a second appearance on his Paris Fashion Week runway. Eagle-eyed fans noted that its runway debut could indicate that the sneaker was more than just a sample Virgil had experimented with. Now we have the confirmation. According to Sneaker News, we can expect the Off-White x Nike Air Jordan 4 “Sail” to drop on July 25, if there are no delays.
Compared to the last Off-White x Nike Air Jordan 5 that dropped over All-Star Weekend, Virgil landed on a different approach with this upcoming rendition. For one, the sneaker packs a clean look, utilizing softer, cream hues as the base of the upper and midsole. Virgil went with leather as well to add a touch of luxury to the classic silhouette – doing away with the usual thin, rip-stop like fabrics on the upper. But the Off-White signature isn’t missing from this rendition which features translucent panels on the midfoot mesh, tongue, and eyelets. The rip-stop like fabric also makes a small appearance on the mudguard around the toe box.
The Off-White x Nike Air Jordan 4 “Sail” will no doubt fare better than its jarring Air Jordan 5 sibling. The sneaker sticks to the classic design of the AJ4, with minimal to no alteration to its shape. Combine that with a muted, simple colorway and you have a sneaker that most sneakerheads will be camping online for.
The Off-White x Nike Air Jordan 4 “Sail” will be dropping on July 25, if there are no delays. It is estimated to retail for US$200 (approx. S$282.46). Stay tuned for more updates on a local release.
