Parra x Nike SB Dunk Low finally has a release date! After multiple leaked images, Nike has confirmed the collaboration with Parra, aka Pieter Janssen. This is not the first time the Dutch artist and Nike have worked together. They released the Air Max 1 ‘Cherrywood’ and 95 ‘Amsterdam’ in 2010.
Since the initial leaks by Hyperbeast France, @nikesbornothing and @retroshoparis have given us a much closer look at the sneaker, teasing us with new images of the highly anticipated sneakers. With the drop date set at July 26, let’s explore the shoe to decide if it’s something we should cop.
The mostly white Parra x Nike SB Dunk Low features a leather exterior with multiple Nike swooshes – a small blue one at the forefoot of the shoe and the usual two at the side. These much larger swooshes comprise three overlapping chenille layers with the Dutch artist’s signature colors – pink, red and blue.
The color scheme carries through to the heel tab that’s stitched with Nike and SB, the camo print on the inner lining of the shoe, and even the tongue tab with Parra branding. The sneaker will come with two laces, one in all white with patterned tips and another braided with the signature colors.
Nike SBs have been experiencing a sort of resurgence, thanks to prominent collabs with boutique store Concepts and heavy cosign with Travis Scott. This collaboration with Parra could signal a further shift into the mainstream.
The Parra x Nike SB Dunk Low will drop on July 26, but there have been no details on a Singapore release yet.
