Kith’s founder Ronnie Fieg will be releasing six sneakers to celebrate his decade-long partnership with ASICS Tiger, and the GEL-LYTE 3.1 “Salmon” is the first of what’s to come in this “Legends” collection.
Though the Internet is rife with rumors, what Ronnie Fieg has officially revealed so far is the GEL-LYTE 3.1 “Salmon”.
Pairing the upper of a GEL-LYTE III with a performance midsole, the GEL-LYTE 3.1 is actually a hybrid that’s six years in the pipeline. It’s wrapped in the iconic “salmon” pink suede from end to end, which will attract both the ladies and men.
Fieg waxes lyrical about this upcoming “Legends” collection, writing in his blog that “the III.I represents the transformation of retro-tech product, it’s a display of how designs like the GEL-LYTE III would look if they had continued to evolve rather than being left in the archive”.
The first colorway to release earlier this year, the “Super Green”, was also designed by Fieg. A military-themed version is also set to drop in what’s left of this year, and according to Fieg, that will be it. He states that the production process for this was too laborious and ASICS Tiger will not be producing this model anymore.
Like or loathe the design, that sets it up for holy grail status, and you can attempt to cop the ASICS Tiger GEL-LYTE III.I “Salmon Toe” on November 22nd, where it will likely be sold on Kith itself.
