Four years after a sample was teased on the Internet, the Solebox x ASICS Tiger GEL-LYTE III “Blue Carpenter Bee” finally gets its official release.
The Solebox x ASICS Tiger GEL-LYTE III “Blue Carpenter Bee”, first revealed in 2012, takes inspiration from the Xylocopa bombylans, an insect that’s also known as the blue carpenter bee.
Found in Australia, the bee has a unique metallic blue-green appearance. Solebox applies this to the ASICS Tiger GEL-LYTE III, giving the uppers a black nubuck leather and a blue microsuede split tongue.
Solebox labeling can be found on the heel panel and one side of the translucent outsole, while a graphic of the blue carpenter bee is printed on the insoles and the other side of the outsole. Three sets of laces are included with this collaborative sneaker.
The Solebox x ASICS Tiger GEL-LYTE III “Blue Carpenteer Bee” is priced at S$299 and will be available on Solebox’s webstore on April 30th.
