Under Armour Embiid One: More Versatile Than The Curry

The Under Armour Embiid One, now available in stores, is a basketball shoe that combines the technology of Hovr and Micro-G. Find out why this is great.

The Under Armour Embiid One is Joel Embiid first signature sneaker and is Under Armour’s second signature basketball line after the Curry.

The Embiid One, which dropped very recently on September 18, incorporates Micro-G and Hovr technology, just like the Curry 7. However, unlike Steph Curry’s namesake kicks, the foams are applied in a new format, which is said to provide more cushioning while being lighter on the feet.

Encased within the heel is a Hovr foam unit which provides added cushioning while energy return is enhanced by the Micro-G in the forefoot. To cut some weight off the sneaker, Under Armour constructed the upper out of lightweight mesh.

Before the Embiid line of kicks, Under Armour only had the signature Curry line. While incredibly responsive, the Currys could come off as being too stiff for some wearers. The Under Armour Embiid One is a more versatile version of the Curry line, making it more suitable for every player.
