Part of art, and DIY culture in particular, is the acceptance that imperfections are what makes our creations beautiful. This philosophy is beautifully embraced in the Vans Origami pack. Two classic Vans silhouettes are disrupted by abstract panels that are stitched on, creating art that you can walk or skate in.
The Vans Era will come in two remastered colorways. The first one sees Van’s iconic checkboard colorway adorned with textured black panels on the forefoot and midsection. It is held in place with stitching that corresponds to the canvas layers beneath it, and laces at the top of the panels.
The second Vans Era plays on a contrast of colors, textures, and materials. The black and grey sneaker is plastered with an abstract piece of purple reptile leather that almost entirely covers the forefoot. Pink suede adds a pop of color to the black heel cap.
The cleanest sneaker of the lot, the Vans slip-on, fuses two fan-favorite designs. The slip-on has the classic black canvas base with a checkerboard leather panel stitched to the top of the forefoot. The panel is stitched perfectly in line with the tongue, creating a cohesive, singular look.
All three sneakers of the Vans Origami pack are now available at Vans.com or at any of the Vans retail stores. You can cop any sneaker from the pack for S$75.
