In celebration of the 150th anniversary of the iconic 501 jean, Levi’s has partnered up with streetwear icon Nigo to drop their third collaboration inspired by the Hickory Stripe 501 jean.

To mark the 150th anniversary of the Levi’s 501, the brand is collaborating with streetwear pioneer and denim aficionado, Nigo to present a collection that will revolve around his personal favorite archival piece – the Hickory Stripe 501 jean. 

The two-part collection offers the Hickory Stripe 501 jeans (S$309.90) and a 557XX Hickory Stripe Trucker Jacket (S$419.90). To stay true to Nigo’s love for rare vintage denim, the entire collection is produced in Japan and utilizes traditional manufacturing techniques. 

The 501 denim will be crafted from 13oz, Shrink-to-Fit hickory stripe selvedge denim, a special for this collection, and will come with classic details like the Levi’s Red tab, button shanks, Two-Horse Pull back patch and stitched arcuate back pockets. To get as close to the archival piece that inspired the 501 jean, it will come with a vintage wash with threads and shanks that match the original piece.

The 557XX Trucker Jacket comes with the same finishes and comes pre-shrunk with specific threads to match the archival pieces. Every piece from the collection will come with a special-edition Levi’s x Nigo 150th anniversary tote bag and co-branded hangtag. 

“As a concept, ’The Future is in the Past’ means looking at the past to create for the future. I found the original Hickory Stripe 501® at a vintage store in 1995 and haven’t seen it reproduced since then. Using the past as my reference book, I am honored to bring this archival 501® back during the 150th anniversary,” says NIGO.
