If you missed the announcement over the weekend, Bape Store Singapore dropped both colorways of the Bape x Undefeated ZX 8000 in-store on November 14. Adidas is giving those who missed out a second chance to pick up a pair of the black Bape x Undefeated ZX 8000 on November 20.
But first, here’s a refresher about the sneaker: it comes with black suede panels set atop a nylon mesh bearing Bape’s signature ABC camo print in grey hues. Matching the monochromatic color scheme are black plastic heel caps and eyelets alongside white leather stripes, which mirror Bape’s previous collaboration with Neighbourhood on the Adidas POD S-3.1. The upper sits atop a white midsole and classic gum outsole.
As a throwback to Adidas sneakers from yesteryear, gold Undefeated branding appears on the side of the sneaker above the Three Stripes. Bape adds their mark in the form of a small label at the ankle. Completing the sneaker is co-branding on the tongue tab and heel cap.
The Bape x Adidas ZX 8000 is part of the German brand’s A-ZX series which pays tribute to their first running shoe franchise. Adidas has pulled all the stops for their A-ZX series of sneakers. Whether it’s re-creating mylar recovery blankets on the Concepts ZX 9000 or hiding a steel toe in Deadhype’s ZX 8000, Adidas has employed some of the biggest names in the sneaker game to apply their design sensibilities to their iconic runners. It’s only fitting that the list included Bape and Undefeated, brands synonymous with streetwear and sneakers.
