Brad Hall, the unlikely sneakerhead has released a second sneaker unboxing video, which continues to beg the question: is this all a marketing ploy by Jordan Brand?
Just when you thought the hilarious unboxing of the Air Jordan 4 “Oreo” by YouTuber Brad Hall was a one-off, the awkward yet funny personality returns with another sneaker unboxing video, this time of the Air Jordan 1 “Laser”, or as he puts it, the “Michael Air Jordan 1 Retro Hi OG Laser”.
With his usual game face on, Hall spends considerable screen time reviewing the box before uncovering the intricacies of the sneaker itself. He then whips out a shoehorn and educates viewers on how to avoid creasing the toe box when walking in sneakers.
When Hall’s first unboxing video surfaced, there was talk of the possibility of it being a marketing ploy by the Jordan Brand. The fact that Hall is unboxing yet another Jordan sneaker in his second and latest video doesn’t help to quell those rumors.
If these sneaker unboxing videos by Hall are indeed a marketing tactic by the Jordan Brand, it’s certainly working well for them. The first unboxing video, uploaded two weeks back, has garnered a staggering 170,000 views and many comments from enthused sneakerheads. The fact that no one has pointed out Brad Hall’s true identity, especially in this day and age when people are just a Facebook profile check away, only adds to the mystery.
Hall is not the only unlikely unboxer. Earlier this week, Jimmy Kimmel Live! released a new YouTube video in which former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is seen lovingly ripping apart a Strawberry Shortcake doll box. While it remains to be seen if Tyson’s unboxing action will be an ongoing series or a one-off sketch, unboxing videos starring unlikely unboxers might be the next thing to take the Internet by storm. Not that we’re complaining, these are entertaining as hell.
