After making an unforgettable entrance at Paris Fashion Week and facing a major delay in delivery due to, what else, Covid-19, the Casablanca x New Balance 327 is finally arriving in Singapore this week.
The sneaker brings the worlds of ’70s runners with classy tennis clubs together, adding to it a touch of streetwear. The New Balance 327 has all the makings of a ’70s retro runner, what with its oversized “N” logo, suede panels on the toe box and a heel cap placed over a wedge midsole. It features classic tennis court colors – mixing greens with orange to form the quintessential country club colorblocking. The addition of perforated leather gives the sneaker a luxurious touch.
As soon as you rotate the sneaker, its streetwear facade starts to show. For one, the midsole is much wider than the upper, creating a Sacai like stance. To add an edgier feel, the suede panels on the forefoot form a “V” like shape which helps give the sneaker a bolder aesthetic.
The Casablanca x New Balance 327 will be available on the Dover Street Market Singapore e-shop on April 18. It will retail at S$189.
