Dover Street Market Singapore will be bringing in the CDG x Nike Presto Foot Tent on January 12. Head down to the store to cop your pair.
The Nike Presto Foot Tent, first released in 2002, was designed by Tinker Hatfield. Yes, the same legendary Tinker Hatfield who saved the Air Jordan line. But the Nike Presto Foot Tent couldn’t be salvaged – it did not sell very well. Perhaps why CDG, known for its ability to make the ugliest things desirable, has been roped in on this collaboration.
Rei Kwakubo and her team first unveiled the sneaker at their CDG Homme Plus show in Paris earlier this year and we now have photos of a sample pair, thanks to Hugokickz. The collaboration sneaker is based on the original Nike Presto so its foundation comes from the classic shoe. The Nike Air Presto Foot Tent features a Nike Presto sole while its upper will have two layers. The first is a mesh layer found on the Presto that forms the base of the upper; the second is a tent-like cover placed on top of the midfoot. The sneaker appears to be laceless and we assume will come in sizes small to large – rather than in numbers – like old Prestos did.
The photos of the CDG Homme x Nike Air Presto Foot Tent above showcase a sample of the shoe and is not the final product. No official news have been announced by CDG or Nike but expect the sneaker to be released sometime in 2019. Watch this space for updates.
