And it’s all happening on the second storey of The Ding Ding Man (DDM). Joe’s Barbershop, Malaysian rapper Joe Flizzow’s successful chain of barbers, will open its first Singapore outlet here.
Goodfellas KL, a popular sneaker and streetwear consignment store, will also call DDM its home in Singapore.
But DDM takes special pride in its back alley – in our opinion, one of the best spots to chill in the entire building – or, in Singapore.
In fact, to celebrate the opening of Joe’s Barber Singapore and Goodfellas Singapore, DDM will hold a full-day event named Back Alley Streetwear and Lifestyle Market on October 29 from 12pm to 9pm.
The event marks the official opening of Goodfellas SG and Joe’s Barbershop Singapore. Free haircuts for the kids; booze, beats and BBQ for the adults. We’ve been told there’ll also be an exclusive Goodfellas SG collection that drops on event day.
A highlight of the Back Alley Streetwear and Lifestyle Market at DDM is the streetwear flea market curated by SG Sneakerheads, affectionately known as SGS in the Singapore sneaker community.
On that note, SGS wants the word out that they’re looking for sneaker collectors who can display a small selection of their collection at the event. Sneaker collectors who are interested to participate can contact Fiky at +65 9328-0609 or Janz at +65 9183-7692.
Nearer to the event, DDM will be selling tickets for a sneaker raffle for shoes donated by prominent Singapore sneaker collector, Janz. If you haven’t yet seen his sneaker collection, peep our interview with the guy here – and bear in mind, this was in 2015.
What people stand to win in the sneaker raffle is up in the air at this point, but it’s a toss-up between a pair of Yeezys, Tiffany Dunks, or Medicom 2 SBs.
Sneaker raffle tickets are likely to be priced at S$10 for 1 ticket; S$25 for 3 tickets; S$40 for 5 tickets.
Event details are subject to change. For latest updates, we recommend following The Ding Ding Man on Facebook.
