Most of the Nike-sponsored women’s national teams will be wearing new kit designs with female-specific fitting.

The beautiful game has, for so long, favored the men’s national teams – from support to coverage, right down to the gear. The latter is set to change at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019, as Nike revealed 14 national teams’ jerseys that we think will steal the fashion limelight this summer. Among those unveiled were the home and away jerseys of the US Women’s national team – the reigning champions who are the favorites to retain the World Cup this year. Here’s a look at some of the unique gear from Nike that will grace the tournament in France.

Jersey innovation – eco-friendly and tailored for women 

All Nike football kits – including this World Cup edition – are made from recycled bottles. The sportswear giant is leading efforts to be more environmentally conscious, with 1 billion plastic bottles recycled into new Nike products every year.

The brand is also heading the movement to spur women’s sport to greater heights, which, among a host of initiatives, includes producing a wider range of gear tailored for women of various shapes and sizes. The innovation of the women’s jerseys stemmed from research and feedback from the professional athletes themselves, which proved vital to develop products that fit, support and feel better for women.
