Hiroshi Fujiwara teased his followers with an image of a Fragment x Nike Cortez collab sneaker. The design incorporates a deconstructed look made trendy by Virgil’s Nike “The Ten” Collection.
Breaking down the teaser image, the shoe will come in an off-white colorway combined with a bold redesign of the silhouette’s upper. A translucent mesh material covers most of the upper, revealing Flywire technology – a first for the sneaker – as well as “FGMT” branding, a further representation of the collaborative effort. The remaining sections of the sneaker (toebox and heel counter) receives the suede treatment dressed in similar tones.
The Nike Cortez has been off to a good start, what with Kendrick Lamar spearheading the hype as an ambassador of the silhouette. If these Fragment collaboration Cortez shoes are a sure thing, they’ll definitely lead the silhouette all the way to the top this year.
Release dates are hazy at the moment, but as always, keep your eyes peeled for more details on Straatosphere.
