Air Max Scorpion takes the Air unit to new heights

The Nike Air Max Scorpion is a sneaker that builds on the Vapormax formula – a full knit upper on a tall Air unit.

The Air Max Scorpion is Nike’s latest flagship model that builds on the design of the Vapormax. The sneaker honors the futuristic look of the Vapormax but with an entirely re-engineered, full-length Air Max midsole.

All attention is on the new, and hopefully improved, Air Max midsole. Instead of a single layer of Air chambers, it looks to have an added set of pillars that connects the base of the footbed with the full-length Air unit. This redesign has given the sneaker a much wider stance and hopefully some added stability. Plus you can now see through the midsole!

Nike has yet to announce the official drop date and price yet. However, the sneaker insider page @knowing_kicks hints at a drop slated for September 2022.

Will the Air Max Scorpion have the same hype as the OG Vapormax? When Nike first unveiled the Vapormax in 2017, it quickly became one of their most sought-after silhouettes and was the choice sneaker for multiple collaborations with brands like Off-White, Clot, and Acronym. Considering that it replicates the same formula, it could potentially see the same success.
